When can I use the Library?

• The Library is open for all students, every morning at 7:30.  The Library is open all nutrition and lunch times and after school.  The Library closes at 4:00 except on Teacher Development Tuesdays (1:30 closure).
• Your teachers will bring your whole class to the library for research projects.
• If your teacher sends you to the library during class, for independent research, you will need a library pass.  Give this pass to the Librarian when you arrive.

How do I borrow a book?

• The Library Assistant at the Circulation Desk will help you.  The assistant will stamp your book’s return date or due date.  You may borrow the book for two weeks and renew it.
• A few encyclopedias may be borrowed overnight for only one day.
• You may have three books checked out at one time, if you do not have an overdue book or an unpaid fine.
• Leave books that you are using, but that you don’t want to check out, on the tables. Do not put them back on the shelves.

How do I return a book?

• Return a book on or before its due date.  Don’t wait for a late notice!
• Return your book to the Library Assistant at the Circulation Desk.

What if I forget to return my book on time?

• You will have to pay an overdue fine of 10 cents a day (each school day).  Overnight encyclopedias are also 10 cents a day if returned late.
• If you lose a book, you must pay for the cost of the book.

When can I use the Internet research computers?

• You can use the Internet research computers any time you are in the Library. But you must have your Student ID card with the Internet sticker on it.
• The computers are for researching school projects.  Gaming and e-mail are not allowed.

How should I behave in the Library?

• Be doing something productive (reading, studying, researching).
• Be doing it in a way that allows other students to be productive.  (Talk quietly; don’t annoy others.)
• Be respectful of other people, their property and Library property.
